Executive Hurdles Recruitment is working with a well-established specialist nutritional supplements business on two appointments, one in new product development and one in procurement. Both roles are based at its office in Frimley, Surrey.
The Roles
​
1. Product Developer | New Product Development
Up to £45,000 depending on experience and level
Permanent, full-time | Frimley, Surrey | Hybrid, 1 day working from home
35-hour week, flexible (8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm)
A hands-on, creative role within a dedicated New Product Development team. You will work across a broad range of supplement formats, including canned drinks, nutritional gels, sprays and powder-based supplements, taking products from customer brief through to recipe development, sampling and production handover.
You will need:

A minimum of 2 years' NPD experience within beverages, RTD and/or nutritional supplements, working across both liquid and powder formats (essential)

A degree in nutrition, food science, food technology or a related discipline (essential)

Product formulation skills and knowledge of ingredient organoleptic properties

Experience creating product specification sheets and maintaining accurate recipe documentation

Ingredient and packaging sourcing and costing experience

Pre-production organoleptic testing experience
-
Microsoft Excel proficiency and strong numerical ability

2. Buyer | Procurement
£30,000 – £40,000 base + 15% profit share bonus
Permanent | Hybrid | 3 days a week in the office, Frimley, Surrey
A technical, non-client-facing procurement role. Working closely with the Procurement Manager, you will buy raw materials, packaging and finished goods for the business's customer brands, making sure the business buys the right quality, at the right price, on the right terms.

What the role involves:

Manage RFQs and tenders for manufacturing, raw materials and packaging, analysing responses on total cost, MOQs, lead times, payment terms, quality and supply risk

Support costing rounds and benchmark suppliers and pricing against the market

Track commodity and cost trends and flag risks early with recommended actions

Negotiate price, MOQs, lead times and payment terms, supporting the Procurement Manager on key agreements

Report on supplier KPIs, spend and savings, including on-time in-full delivery and lead times

Keep supplier, pricing and specification data accurate in the ERP and raise purchase orders

Qualify alternative suppliers and work with New Product Development from brief to first order
You will need:

2+ years' experience as a Buyer or Category Buyer within the food industry or food FMCG (essential)

Experience buying a wide range of raw materials and products. Sourcing a single ingredient or a narrow range is not enough (essential)

Strong numerical and analytical skills with real attention to detail (essential)

Confident managing supplier relationships and working with internal stakeholders (essential)

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment (essential)
