About the Opportunity

Executive Hurdles Recruitment is supporting a UK-based, purpose-led organisation — working with public, private, and third sector partners to design, test, and scale practical innovations that improve outcomes for people and communities — with the recruitment of a Group Systems & Cloud Engineer to join their collaborative technology team in London.

Reporting to the Group Senior Technical Architect, this is a broad and influential engineering role with day-to-day ownership across identity and access management, endpoints, SaaS platforms, security tooling, and cloud infrastructure. You will also support automation and infrastructure-as-code initiatives alongside the Group DevOps Engineer and act as a senior escalation point for the service delivery team.

This opportunity would suit an experienced Systems, Cloud, Infrastructure, or Workplace Technology Engineer with strong technical foundations, a proactive and service-focused approach, and a genuine interest in working within an organisation where the work has real-world impact.

  • Maintaining SSO, SAML, OIDC, and SCIM integrations across core SaaS platforms

  • Administering Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and Slack Enterprise Grid

  • Managing the Group's Windows and macOS device fleet through MDM

  • Maintaining endpoint policies, security configurations, and operating system updates

  • Supporting security platforms including CrowdStrike, Cloudflare One, and Cloudflare WARP

  • Administering cloud accounts, access, networking, and security across AWS, GCP, and Azure

  • Monitoring platform health, investigating incidents, and improving system reliability

  • Supporting infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD initiatives with the Group DevOps Engineer

  • Maintaining DNS, system backups, recovery procedures, and technical documentation

  • Acting as a senior escalation point for complex service delivery issues

  • Supporting compliance with Cyber Essentials, ISO 27001, UK GDPR, and the Data Protection Act 2018

  • Working with suppliers on upgrades, integrations, and new Group entity onboarding

  • Providing clear, approachable technical support to colleagues across the organisation

Required Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Strong experience administering Google Workspace or Microsoft 365

  • Hands-on experience with JumpCloud, Okta, or another IdP/MDM platform

  • Practical experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure

  • Scripting skills using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or Google Apps Script

  • Good knowledge of networking, DNS, VPCs, and traffic security

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and experience resolving complex technical issues

  • Excellent communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills

  • A solid understanding of security, data protection, and access governance
